Saltwater State Park Des Moines
I found that Saltwater State Park Des Moines has Hiking, Camping, and Beach access here. The trails are easy to a little steep, but it was a great hike.
Camping
The campground is now open to enjoy for RVs & Tents. There is an RV dump station on site. Bathrooms
are provided too.
Beach Access
The beach has some old logs and rocks that you will have to climb over to get to the beach, but it’s not
that hard to do. A lot of people with their families were there when I went but was not overcrowded. Benches and Picnic Tables are provided along the walkway to set and enjoy the scenery.
Food
There is a little concession stand there providing various drinks and food for your enjoyment.
State Park Parking
You must have a Discover Pass to park in this and all state parks so you don’t get a ticket. The day I was
there, the officers were actively ticketing vehicles without passes.
Below are some more pictures I took while walking on the Pathway. The pathway runs along the beach for a while. This is a great place to enjoy on a warm sunny day by yourself or with your family. The fresh air was great!
